Maine Telemedicine Services: Professional Team
Director of MTS Home Telemedicine, and CEO, HealthWays/RMCL, Marilyn Hughes, RN, BSN is a native of Lubec, Maine and has over thirty years of experience in health care. Her nursing experiences range from long term care, medical surgical, health education/community services, and school health, to emergency nursing. In addition, she has extensive administrative experience including 5 years as Director of Clinical Services/Deputy Director for RMCL.
Director of RMCL/HealthWays/MTS Technical Services, Dale Wing, has been with RMCL since 1997, with main responsibility for operations of corporate information systems. He has served as the Engineer for telemedicine systems installation and technical support on dozens of projects and major contracts. He oversees the operations of and was instrumental for the establishment of RMCL’s multipoint Accord bridge and the Wide Area Network based on spread spectrum microwave. Dale has an extensive background in Broadcast Engineering and electronics. He has over 20 years experience in business, having built and operated Cable TV and Communications business's in Eastern Maine.
Director of Research and Evaluation, Michael Edwards, Ph.D. has since 1998 led the evaluation effort for dozens of grant funded projects, including major telemedicine projects. After completing his doctoral degree in Physiology, he had 20 years research experience in the biomedical sciences, including six years as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Shriver Center for Mental Retardation. His publications include 26 journal articles and numerous abstracts.
